Malaysian authorities recently conducted large-scale inspections of electrical facilities in Perak state, seizing a total of 41 machines suspected of being used for illegal cryptocurrency mining. According to a briefing from Bakri Zainal Abidin, director of the Hilir Perak Police District, enforcement agencies implemented inspection operations in Tanjung Tualang in three stages — the first raid on Friday night recovered 24 devices, followed by two subsequent inspections on Saturday morning that confiscated 9 and 8 devices respectively.

Police indicated that the cases involved alleged violations of Section 427 of the Penal Code and Section 37 of the 1990 Electricity Supply Act. Illegal mining activities not only cause significant electricity waste but also pose threats to local power grid stability, making them a key target for law enforcement crackdowns. The investigation into the cases is currently ongoing, with no arrests made at this time. Malaysian authorities continue to strengthen regulatory efforts against illegal cryptocurrency mining facilities.
