People’s Financial News, March 20 — Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the “Implementation Plan for High-Quality Development of Energy-saving Equipment (2026–2028)” (MIIT Joint Energy-Saving [2026] No. 44, hereinafter referred to as the “Implementation Plan”). The plan systematically outlines work arrangements to accelerate the research, development, and promotion of advanced energy-saving equipment; expand the green and low-carbon supply of energy-saving equipment; strengthen the system coupling and matching of energy-saving equipment; and promote digital upgrades of energy-saving equipment. It emphasizes developing new materials, components, and products that meet market demand and have outstanding energy-saving effects to achieve higher efficiency and performance. The plan also advocates building large models for equipment energy conservation and carbon reduction, leveraging artificial intelligence to empower energy-saving equipment applications, and improving the operational efficiency of energy-using systems in key industries to transform industrial energy saving into full-process system energy saving. Additionally, it proposes specific measures to create a healthy industry development environment by accelerating the renewal and transformation of energy-saving equipment, improving the standards system for energy-saving equipment, and strengthening overall coordination of industry development.
