Good evening, friends!
Today, A-shares experienced a volatile decline. The divergence seen yesterday did not continue, and the market’s short-term pressure significantly increased. The Shanghai Composite opened lower in the morning and continued to weaken, briefly falling below the 4000-point mark. It barely recovered by the close, ending down 1.39%. The Shenzhen Component Index also declined, closing down 2.02%, and the ChiNext Index failed to sustain yesterday’s strength, dropping 1.11%. All three major indices recorded noticeable declines.
Market sentiment has shifted to caution across the board. The stock-picking environment is clearly bearish, with only about 2,500 stocks rising and nearly 5,000 stocks falling, significantly reducing profit opportunities. High-flyer thematic stocks showed increased divergence, with pressure on previously popular sectors like computers and electronics, as funds moved to safer assets. The total trading volume across both markets remained at 2.13 trillion yuan, slightly higher than the previous day. The increased volume alongside the decline indicates signs of capital fleeing the market.
Capital flow shows a clear defensive pattern. The oil and petrochemical sectors saw contrarian capital inflows, becoming one of the few safe havens during the session. Previously hot growth sectors, such as the STAR Market’s hard-tech stocks, experienced some divergence, with a few attracting funds against the trend. However, sectors like power equipment and communications, which were strong yesterday, also pulled back, with most sectors facing downward pressure. Non-ferrous metals, electronics, and power equipment saw significant net capital outflows, while non-bank financials experienced contrarian net inflows, jointly dragging down the indices.
Currently, the market is in a structural correction phase. Going forward, it’s important to monitor the effectiveness of the strong support zone around 3950-3980 points on the Shanghai Composite. Resistance at 4042 points is significant, and a sustained rebound requires continued volume support.
In terms of trading strategy, focus on defensive positioning. It’s advisable to reduce positions appropriately and concentrate on two main themes: first, resource-based defensive sectors like oil and petrochemicals with safety margins; second, leading stocks in the hard-tech growth track after significant declines. Stick to low-buy, no chasing high, avoid high-position divergence stocks, and patiently wait for market stabilization and rotation opportunities.

Lin Shi’s personal words
I haven’t been on Taocounty for long, but every time I see everyone’s messages, I think of my own confusion when I first entered the market. Excited when making money, upset when losing, clueless in front of the K-line. It’s precisely because I’ve stumbled and learned that I realize how precious it is to have someone accompany and guide you.
I always believe that giving someone a fish is not as good as teaching them how to fish. The market is constantly changing. Only by understanding the logic and mastering the methods can you go far. My sharing of strategies and ideas is to help everyone avoid detours and gradually build their own trading system.
There’s no overnight wealth in the stock market—only accumulated gains through steady and persistent effort. Slow is fast, and stability leads to long-term success.
