Recently, in the “2025 Financial Support for the Development of Characteristic Rural Industry Clusters in Chongqing” initiative jointly organized by the Chongqing Municipal Financial Office, the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Commission, the Municipal Finance Bureau, Chongqing Daily Media Group, and Contemporary Financial Media, Industrial Bank Chongqing Branch’s National Geographical Indication Service Project was successfully recognized as a typical case for its solid results and innovative model.

Chongqing features prominent characteristics of large cities, vast rural areas, mountainous regions, and reservoir areas, with excellent resources for specialized agriculture. Currently, Chongqing is actively cultivating the food and agricultural product processing industries, developing eco-characteristic agriculture tailored to local conditions. Industrial Bank Chongqing Branch proactively aligns with local development strategies, focusing on policy guidance and industry needs. Using national geographical indication products as a core approach, it precisely connects various characteristic agricultural operators’ financing needs, launching dedicated financial service projects to effectively turn the “brand value” of geographical indications into “industrial development capital.”

To date, the project has covered more than ten characteristic agricultural industries in Bashu, including Fengdu beef cattle, Rongchang pigs, Tongliang black chickens, Nanchuan chickens, Tongnan eggs, Shizhu yellow lotus, Fuling pickled vegetables, Zhong County citrus, Fengjie navel oranges, Tongnan lemons, Wushan konjac, and Yanyang chrysanthemums. Over 300 million yuan in loans have been issued, providing full-cycle, low-cost, high-efficiency financing support for upstream and downstream farmers, cooperatives, and agricultural enterprises, helping a number of small specialties grow into large industries.

Next, Industrial Bank Chongqing Branch will continue to uphold its original intention of serving the real economy through financial services, further deepen financial support for characteristic industries with geographical indications, optimize products, expand services to the grassroots, and implement precise financial support.
