What just happened?



At 2:30 PM ET today, CBS News reported that President Trump was considering deploying infantry troops into Iran.

Then, at 3:43 PM ET, President Trump said "I don't want a ceasefire with Iran", while the S&P 500 index touched its lowest level of 2026.

Exactly 90 minutes later, at 5:13 PM ET, President Trump said that the U.S. was "considering de-escalating" the war with Iran.

During the time period from 3:43 PM to 5:13 PM ET, the S&P 500 index rose nearly +1% with NO other news.

By 6:15 PM ET, the S&P 500 had recovered +1.8% from its low, adding an additional +$900 billion in market capitalization.

The market is now closed until Monday.
