(MENAFN) Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar unveiled its latest kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicle, the K2, on Saturday through a promotional video set to Waltz No. 2, showcasing artificial intelligence-driven flight and targeting systems.

The K2 drone is designed for autonomous swarm operations and relies on AI vision for navigation, target identification, and engagement. It boasts a range exceeding 2,000 kilometers (1,240 miles), carries a 200-kilogram (440-pound) warhead, and has a maximum takeoff weight of 800 kilograms.

The UAV can operate from short or unprepared runways and is engineered for multiple deployments. Baykar, a leading Turkish drone manufacturer, has exported UAVs to several countries and currently offers platforms including the tactical Bayraktar TB2, the high-altitude Bayraktar Akinci, the ship-capable Bayraktar TB3, and the jet-powered Bayraktar Kizilelma.

In the video, the K2 is shown taking off, flying in coordinated formations, and performing synchronized maneuvers while the waltz by Dmitri Shostakovich provides the soundtrack. Waltz No. 2, composed in 1938, is renowned for its haunting “dark cabaret” style, blending cheerful cabaret tones with subtle melancholic and dramatic harmonies.
