Two dead, 11 injured! A student minivan in Hezhang County, Guizhou, collided with a parked truck on the roadside, according to sources.
Why do deadly traffic accidents still happen on wide roads?
According to Xinhua News Agency, around 7 a.m. on March 23, a traffic accident occurred in Hezhang County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province. It has been initially confirmed that two students died and 11 students were injured, with two in critical condition. Currently, all the injured have been taken to Weining County People’s Hospital for treatment, and the two critically injured students’ vital signs are temporarily stable.

On the morning of the 23rd, Shangyou News (reporting email: [email protected]) learned from relevant authorities in Hezhang County that the incident happened in Hezhang County, Hezhen Town. A minivan carrying multiple students collided with a parked large truck on the roadside, causing the accident. The driver of the minivan is about 50 years old and has been detained by the police.
An insider revealed that the minivan was carrying several students. “They are all elementary school students, aged from seven or eight to over ten. The two students who died are 12 and 13 years old. The remaining injured students are in stable condition.”
“How the collision happened is under further investigation by the police. The large truck was parked on the roadside, and the road is very wide,” the insider said.
A local resident told reporters that the incident occurred on the road near Hezhen Town Health Center. They woke up around 10 a.m. and heard about the accident; the scene had already been cleared. The reporter noted that Hezhen Town Health Center is very close to a local elementary school.
According to Xinhua News Agency, after the accident, relevant departments quickly launched rescue and aftermath work. The cause of the accident is under further investigation.
