It is a developer and manufacturer of advanced optical instruments primarily serving the medical device and defense/aerospace markets. The company specializes in proprietary optical and imaging technologies, including custom-designed endoscopes, digital imaging endoscopes utilizing CMOS sensor technology, and micro-precision lenses and components. These products are used in minimally invasive surgeries and advanced defense and aerospace applications, including satellite communications. The company’s operations focus on system manufacturing, engineering and product development, Ross optical components and assemblies, and its micro-optics laboratory. In June 2019, Precision Optics expanded its business through the acquisition of Ross Optical Industries, increasing capabilities in optical components for medical, defense, and industrial applications. In October 2021, it further broadened its expertise by acquiring Lighthouse Imaging, integrating electrical engineering and medical visualization device development.
