French Prosecutors Record 135 Crypto Kidnapping Cases Since 2023
France’s National Anti-Organized Crime Prosecutor’s Office said crypto-related kidnapping and illegal detention cases have reached 135 since 2023. The office said 12 cases are under investigation, with 88 people charged and 75 people in pre-trial detention. Prosecutors said some suspects appeared in multiple cases, suggesting a structured criminal network.
