Foreign Minister Says: After the US-Iran Peace Agreement, Turkey May Join Mine Clearance Operations in the Strait of Hormuz

Gate News reports, April 25 — Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that if the United States and Iran reach a peace agreement, Turkey may consider participating in mine clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
After any agreement is reached, a technical team will carry out mine clearance work within the strait, Fidan said.
Turkey considers such actions a humanitarian responsibility and is generally positive about participation.
If a technical coalition becomes a party to future conflicts, Turkey will reassess its position.
Fidan also expressed confidence that issues related to Iran's nuclear program can be resolved in upcoming talks to be held in Pakistan.
