Richard X Bove, a financial analyst who just retired after a 54-year career on Wall Street, says the dollar's days as the world's reserve currency are numbered.
Speaking to the New York Times, the expert said that the U.S. currency is doomed to die for different reasons. One of them has to do with the role being played by those who manage the means of production.
"The people who make the goods elsewhere are gaining more and more control of the means of production and therefore more and more control of the world economy and therefore more and more control of money," the analyst said to explain his vision of the economic future.
In that sense, he predicts the arrival of a post-dollar era in which bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrencies will occupy an important place in the economy.
