On April 29th, Jinshi Futures reported that China Shipbuilding Group Limited and Qatar Energy held a signing ceremony in Beijing for the contract of 18 of the world's largest 271,000 cubic meters ultra-large liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the State Minister of Energy Affairs and President and CEO of Qatar Energy, stated in his speech that the signing of the contract for the construction of 18 LNG carriers with a capacity of 271,000 cubic meters by Qatar Energy and China Shipbuilding Group has set a new record for the highest single ship order amount. These ships will support Qatar Energy's expansion of production capacity in the northern gas fields and meet the long-term renewal needs of the fleet.
