On October 28, Jin10 reported that U.S. President Trump praised the U.S.-Japan alliance during a meeting with Japan's new Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, in Tokyo, reiterating the bond with this long-term partner and commending Takaichi's plan to increase defense spending. Trump stated, “I want you to know that whenever you have any questions, any concerns, any needs, or anything you need help with, as long as it’s something I can do for Japan, we will do our best. We are the highest level of allies.” Trump also optimistically noted that both sides have overcome trade disputes. Trump said, “I believe we will engage in tremendous trade together, more than ever before.” He added that he hopes the U.S.-Japan relationship will be “stronger than ever before.” According to the latest reports, Trump has signed a new golden age implementation agreement for the U.S.-Japan alliance and a framework for securing critical minerals and rare earth supplies with Takaichi.
