U.S. House Speaker: California Governor Newsom should face "severe punishment"

On June 10, Jin10 reported that when asked whether California Governor Newsom should be arrested, U.S. House Speaker Johnson stated that it is not his responsibility. He said, "I won’t analyze from a legal perspective whether Newsom should be arrested, but I will say that he should be tarred and feathered." The punishment Johnson referred to is an ancient European form of vigilante justice, where the punished person is covered in boiling tar and then covered with feathers, serving as a severe punishment and humiliation.
