The High Court of England made a ruling on August 7, issuing a global freezing order against Ruja Ignatova, commonly known as the “encryption queen,” and several of her suspected accomplices in the OneCoin scheme. More than 400 victims of the OneCoin collapse have joined together to petition the court to freeze the assets of Ignatova, co-founder of OneCoin Sebastian Greenwood, Christopher Hamilton, and Robert MacDonald, who are suspected of helping OneCoin Money Laundering, as well as the assets of four internet celebrities who promoted OneCoin to the public. In addition, Ignatova’s business entities involved in Money Laundering and the purchase of OneCoin assets have also been sanctioned with global asset freezes. It is reported that Ruja Ignatova defrauded investors from the establishment of Onecoin in 2014 to the collapse of the fraudulent project and Ignatova’s disappearance in 2017, through a $4 billion Ponzi Scheme. The encryption queen was last seen in Athens, Greece in 2017 and has not been seen since, prompting the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to list her as one of the top 10 most wanted criminals.
