Fidelity disclosed that over 77,000 customer data was leaked in August, and the related vulnerabilities have been addressed.
Odaily Planet Daily News: Fidelity recently submitted a document to the Attorney General of Maine, stating that 77,099 of its customers have been affected by data breaches, which is only a small fraction of its 51.5 million customer base. It is reported that during the period from August 17 to 19, an attacker used their recently established two client accounts to obtain customer names and other personal identifiers. On August 19, when Fidelity first discovered this vulnerability, unauthorized access was terminated. The company stated that it has received assistance from "external security experts" to address the issue. Fidelity emphasized that third parties did not access any Fidelity account. Fidelity said it will provide affected users with two years of free credit monitoring and identity restoration services "to discover any abnormal activities that may affect users' personal financial conditions."
