The Israeli Prime Minister's Office issued a statement saying that in the meeting, Netanyahu emphasized that the most important part of the protocol reached between Israel and Hezbollah to end the conflict should be "Israel's implementation of the protocol and the determination and ability to eliminate any security threats from Lebanon to ensure the safe return of residents to their homes." On the same day, Israeli Defense Minister Gantz and Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer also met with Hochstein and McGurk to discuss the conflict between Israel and Lebanon and the release of detainees in the Gaza Strip.
