BlockBeats news, on January 10th, US President-elect Trump has attended the New York court online for the ‘hush money’ case. (Jinshi) BlockBeats previously reported that Trump may be sentenced before taking office as President of the United States. On January 8th, Judge Allen Gesmer of the New York Appeals Court rejected the latest request from President-elect Trump to postpone the sentencing process for his ‘hush money’ case. Trump’s lawyer argued that as President-elect, Trump enjoys the same criminal immunity as the President, but this view was rejected by the court. With less than two weeks before Trump takes office as President, if the sentencing is not completed before his second term begins on January 20th, the presidential immunity may postpone the case until he leaves office. The court’s ruling means that Trump’s sentencing is still scheduled for January 10th. However, Trump and his legal team have stated that they will continue to seek legal avenues to postpone or cancel the sentencing.
