PANews reported on January 30th that, according to an announcement from CME Group, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange plans to launch BTC Friday Options (BFF) on February 24th, pending regulatory approval. The Options are financial Settlement products, with the underlying asset being the small BTC futures contract (BFF) with the highest volume on CME, and they provide daily expirations from Monday to Friday. CME’s cryptocurrency product global head, Giovanni Vicioso, said that the Options will provide more efficient tools to help investors manage short-term BTC price risk. Since its launch on September 30, 2024, the BFF contract has accumulated 775,000 trades with a total volume of 1.63 billion US dollars, of which 44% of the trades occurred during non-US market hours, demonstrating global demand.
