Gold Finance reported that Consumers’ Protection, a non-profit organization in California, has launched a multi-million dollar advertising campaign questioning the business practices of Tether stablecoin. The campaign, through TV commercials and billboards, questions whether Tether will become the next FTX and highlights the risk of unaudited reserves.
Consumers’ Protection will set up digital billboards in Times Square, New York, and use mobile billboards to promote in New York and Washington, D.C. Executive Director Will Hild stated that consumers should be vigilant against stablecoins that fail to properly prove the stability of their assets. Despite the rapid growth in enterprise interest in stablecoins, less than 10% of transactions are actually completed by consumers.
La Consumers’ Protection a été fondée en 1929, principalement soutenue par des groupes religieux et conservateurs.
